HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lenovo will finally be launching the Legion gaming smartphone.
  • The smartphone will have its pop-up selfie cameras sideways.
  • The Lenovo's Legion gaming phone is likely to launch in July.

Lenovo has confirmed it will launch a gaming smartphone under the Legion brand, popular for its gaming laptops. There has been a rather huge speculation on the company's next move to revive the smartphone business after its dismal performance. The Chinese company has said on Weibo that its Legion gaming smartphone is real and will arrive in July. Lenovo also gave away the first look of the smartphone wherein its key design has been confirmed.

On Weibo, Lenovo wrote "Waiting for a long time, see you in July" (translated from Mandarin) along with the logo of its Legion line-up. While the first poster does not show what the smartphone will look like, a previously leaked render does. The Lenovo Legion smartphone will have a design that has leaked previously in renders. There will be pop-up cameras that will stick out from the side instead of the top edge. This implies Lenovo's upcoming gaming smartphone is practically meant to be used horizontally.
